Nederland’s early on was driven by the rice and dairy farms. However after a the panic of 1907 saw the foreclosure of many rice mills resulting in settlers to move away in search for jobs, but a small percentage remained . Today the town is known for the annual Texas Rice Festival, and the Nederland Heritage Festival we are are sure you will find something in the entertainment scene here for sure!
