Welcome to Groves, Texas. In 1886, Sam Courville settled on a 640 acre piece of land with his family which would become nowadays Groves. The land was sold, and conveyed to the Griffing brothers of Port Arthur in 1916, and they began the planting of several thousand pecan trees on the piece of land. in 1921 the land was split in half for a residential area which would be know as ” Pecan Grove”, and the City of Groves began. Today Groves is home to the annual Texas Pecan Festival. Get out and explore Groves, Texas today and see its entertainment scene.
